Hello Grade 4 Families,

As you may know, our class has been learning all about habitats, biomes, and biodiversity, and we’re excited to bring everything together with a creative hands-on project!

Students will be creating their very own habitat diorama β€” a small 3D scene in a box that shows a habitat and the plants and animals that live there. A diorama is like a mini model or snapshot of an environment β€” for example, a rainforest filled with trees, birds, and vines, or a tundra with snow, rocks, and Arctic animals.

  • We have already completed this Grade 4 Diorama Assignment Planning Sheet in class, which includes a rubric which I will be using to assess the final projects (These planning sheets are in their science binders)

  • The written paragraph portion of the project will also be completed in class.
